Circle designs with appreciation notes for Kerr students and teachers are taped to the candy wrapper. Mrs. Curry, FBLAs advisor, purchased York Peppermint Patties in bulk for the event. FBLA is so proud of Kerr getting a third Blue Ribbon award, Casey Nguyen said. To celebrate, we decided to give every single student and staff at Kerr a York Peppermint Patty.

Over fifty students attend the FBLA rush meeting, occupying the majority of the space in the business center. The officers were surprised but elated by the outcome, having expected only a few attendees. We were ecstatic with the turn out, but it turned to apprehensiveness when we realized we had to accommodate for the large turnout. Despite our nerves, we still kept the ball rolling and tried our best to ensure everyone who came had a good time, Tiffany Tran said. It was definitely a mix of glee and fear, but we’re hoping for similar numbers at our first meeting, so it couldn’t have scared us that badly.

They decided to wait until the seven days before the meeting to begin introducing themselves, hoping that the countdown would serve as a daily reminder for old and returning members. The sport has become popular at lunch with the addition of a ping pong table in the cafeteria last year.
