Quite Elementary, On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Kerr Pals member junior Jennifer Nguyen and sophomore Manar Al-Gburi volunteer to help a kindergarten class. And while nervous at first, after students started reaching out for help, Nguyen was excited to be able help and came right away. Assisting the student reminded her why she liked to be in Kerr Pals so much. “ A student called me President Jefferson instead of my name, which was pretty funny,” Nguyen said.

STARTING OFF FULL For Food Frenzy on Friday, January 6, 2023, the front of the school sold breakfast burritos for $3 and donuts for $2. Although they had trouble selling the last of their things, the sophomore class was still able to do well in terms of sales. The event itself provided many happy consumers and even greater support for the class of 2025. I really enjoyed Food Frenzy, especially with Alumni Day and the food trucks.” said sophomore Faye Kappo. “The warm break burritos were unquestionably my favorite because they gave me a chance to eat and get ready for the day.”

BLINKING LIGHTS On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, Jazz Band were set to play in front of people in a hospital at 7AM. And while they were late, they were able to execute their show flawlessly and played u til the applauses overwhelmed the hospital. “While there were some complications and it sadly had to end so soon, I definitely enjoyed performing and it was quite a new experience for me,” said Riona Guice.

BECAUSE THE STATE DEMANDS IT Jonathan Nguyen struggled during English II, as while he had gone over the old STAAR tests and analyzed its question he was still stressed and wasnt too condiment in his skills. He struggled on the writing portion of the test and feared that he may have messed up knowing that the writing portion was due 50% of the entire test. While he felt more relieved after taking the test, he is unsure of what score he may receive and whether he will feel even worse about how he took the test.

REFINED PALATE Sophomore class officer, Meerab Arif, talks to her fellow officers on the future food frenzy, taking place on December 12. Their last idea, donuts, and coffee had completely sold out and now they wondered what else they could sell. Meerab suggests that they could do croissants or maybe even takoyaki, like the previous year. We currently, dont have anything planned, but Im confident that well be able to make sales like never before. and were more prepared for the oncoming sales as we ran out of donuts last time, and didnt think about how fast they would sell out, Meerab Arif said.

CRAZED FOR FOOD After the event of Food Frenzy, on Monday, October 31, 2022, Iqra Naveed10 sold donuts and coffee left and right with her other class officers. While the amount is disclosed, the sophomore class has made tons of profit and business, having sold out completely in their stocks. With quite a lot of moments before her prom, Naveed believes that at this pace they will be able to make more money in the future and make everything from their senior prom to future events similar to this and be able to hold field trips. Our long-term goal for the Class of 2025, and high school in general, is to be able to make memorable memories and make our class one big family, said Naveed.

SPIRIT FEST The Homecoming game, a flag football match between the sophomore and junior team and the freshmen and senior team, took place on Friday, October 21, 2022, the final day of spirit week, from 6:00 to 8:00. The actual game was frantic and thrilling. The freshman and senior squad had lost the comeback game against the sophomores and juniors, who had initially had the upper hand. And though they had suffered a loss, it didnt stop them from enjoying themselves and striving to defeat the freshman and senior class next year. Although we lost, the main priority was to fun, which we achieved, and I feel really great about that, sophomore Thinh Tran said.
