Resuming Costuming: UIL members make costumes out of scratch for their play Smile Nd Nod. Though some costumes look rough in the making, most UIL members believe in trusting the process. Sophomore actress and cadre thespian Olivia Nguyen said, “I joined costumes to learn how to use a sewing machine although the costumes I made looked rough at first. However, I’m still excited because I know they’re going to look good at the end”.

UIL begins their week by continuing to work on their production of Smile N Nod. Most of the tech work will be done by fourth-period UIL during their class time. Once after school starts, UIL plans to block scenes two and three of Smile N Nod. They have about two and a half weeks to finish up this show causing things to be moving at a quicker pace than usual. Besides working on production, actors and actresses must memorize their lines by Wednesday, April 26 while tech starts working on projects like props.
