Sweeping For Upkeeping: UIL actors and actresses sweep a snippet of Imaginary Invalid during fourth period. After going around each center and performing their snippet of the play, Imaginary Invalid, managers share information about the play’s full performance. Freshman actor Moises Zuniga says, “It feels amazing to go out dressed in costumes completely made by us and amplify our voices and put into perspective to audiences what dedication we have to what we do.”

UIL begins their week by doing sweeps during fourth period over a snippet written by Historian Chriss Doradea from their play, Imaginary Invalid. During sweeps, actors and actresses get into their costumes and rehearse Chriss’ snippet. Then, during fourth period, they perform it in front of each center, which is followed by the managers explaining the details of the entire performance. On Tuesday, March 28, they did a photocall where pictures were taken at a specific time when actors did a run-through. For the rest of the week, they will strike Imaginary Invalid, and finalize the plotline for their other play, Smile And Nod
