Climbing the Ladder
This is the NSDA logo. With national qualifiers in Congressional Debate and World Schools, competitors are working their way up to the national level.
On April 22, speech and debate members met afterschool in room 523 to discuss banquet plans and prepare for Last Chance Qualifiers this Friday. With Team LASER hoping to qualify, the stakes are undoubtedly high. Moreover, world schools team Shalom Akinkunmi, Victoria Pacheco, and Gerardo Diaz held a scrimmage (practice round) with Alief Early College High School via Zoom on April 23. With two judges critiquing the round, it ultimately ended up in a draw. With nationals coming up in mid-June, debaters continue to perfect their skills during practices and meetings.
