Speech and Debate wins first place at UIL tournament

The Kerr Speech and Debate took home first place speech sweepstakes at the UIL tournament.

Results:
Rem Aitbouchireb earned first place champion in Prose

Gwen Natividad earned first place champion in Poetry

Huy Bui earned second in Prose

Vera Nweke earned top three medals in Current Events and second in Persuasive

Following hard sectional training, the band gathered for a full ensemble session, where they improved their synchronization and togetherness as a whole. Getting that time to work together as a whole really helps us bond and perform at our best, Raiyyan Khan said.

Voices of Alief Hosted a Meeting
Sip and Type Erica Carranza, Sarah Abi Saab, Abigail Nguyen, and Leah Ghebrelul meet up at Kims Tea House afterschool on Tuesday to prepare for a mock round on Thursday. During their time there, they researched the impacts of AI on disinformation. Im not the biggest fan of this motion, but Im still excited, Nguyen said.
