Weather Watch: Icy storm closes schools Tuesday, Jan. 28

Similar to Friday, January 25, a wintry breeze of rain, snow, and sleet will hit east and west Texas once again on Tuesday, January 28, and this time, it is expected to stay. Concerns about safety have lead Alief officials to close schools for Tuesday.

The temperature will drop to the 40’s and 30’s this evening and lower overnight. Tuesday is expected to reach as low as 28°F and highest at 32°F with a 60%-70% chance of precipitation. This will last all day.

Wednesday, January 29, will be colder in the morning at 24°F but will get warmer in the afternoon as it reaches 40 degrees.

Temperatures for Thursday and onward should return to its usual 50s and 60s.

Please be cautious on the roads and remember to look out for black ice.
