PSAT could lead to awards

Students taking the PSAT October 13 have the chance for more than just practice on the SAT.

After taking the PSAT, juniors may be eligible for awards from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which recognizes the top students in each state each year. The most important award given is the National Merit Scholar Award.

“They have the National Merit Scholars which is the biggest deal and they also have a couple of categories like subgroups,”  said counselor Sarah Tones.

Students will learn next fall if their scores qualified them for the honors.
