Julie Ryan and Toni Maness-Richards led 16 Cadre Kerr members to qualify for national competition after last month’s state convention. On November 18, 29 Cadre Kerr members attended the Texas Thespian Festival at Corpus Cristi in the American Bank Center at Corpus Christi. Out of the members who attended, 16 have made it to nationals, which will take place in Lincoln, Nebraska, this summer. Those 16 members are:

- Peter T., Nicholas C., Funmi A., Christine U., Helen T., Elizabeth J., Cindy W., Sadiqua B. Joanna A., Jonathan V. and Lucy P. for Group Musical.
- Nadia O. and Phina U. for Duet Pantomime.
- Shadiat O. for Solo Pantomime.
Additional awards and recognition went to Ryan for the Outstanding Director award; Ayesha M., Amy M., Nga N. and Chelsea F., 2nd place in make up; Lisa L., 5th place in Super-Techy; and Sean T., who received the $1000 Texas Theatre Educator Scholarship.
