Busy at work, FBLA members have been diligently helping to make posters and decorations at their meeting on January 26 for their upcoming Ping’s Festival. Ping’s Festival is a Kung Fu Panda themed festival with carnival games, escape rooms, tag games, and eating contests held on February 9 from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. Tickets are sold in the cafeteria during lunches and by officers. Even helping out during their off periods, FBLA members are excited for the event. “Our own dedicated members created an entire commercial during their free time,” said FBLA President Casy Ngyuen. “Some have even come to the business center to finish up banners and posters during their off period. We’ve also promoted the best we can via Schoology Instagram, and verbally. If you haven’t bought tickets yet, you totally should during both lunches!”

Finally being able to take a breath, FBLA members are celebrating this week as they placed in 24 of the 75 competitive events at their district conference last Saturday, January 21. Officers are handing out ballots to the members, allowing them to assess their performance as they get ready for their upcoming state competition right after. FBLA President Casey Nguyen looks at commentary from her judges, excited to improve for the state conference. “I hope members enjoy this experience as it was a core rip that shaped my FBLA experience last year,” said Nguyen. “I expect our members to place at States and qualify for Nationals because we’re so cool like that.”

Charging head on towards districts, FBLA members are finalizing their presentations for the area conference this Saturday, January 21. Their presentations and test scores will be used to compete against other schools in our region. While members who to test have already finished their competitions, all members are still required to attend workshops at the conference. “The officers and I have been telling our members about Distritcs since the very beginning,” said FBLA President Casey Nguyen. “That being said, I’m confident that they will do well. The goal is to place for States, but either way, everyone is here for a fun time. No stres, no worries.”
