As a result of the ban on personal communication devices in Texas schools, under House Bill 1481, the following photos show students spending their leisure time engaging in new activities to occupy their time.

They are playing the Vietnamese Card Game called 13. “Since we can’t use our phones during lunch and usually get bored, we decided to play Exploding Kittens to pass the time,” Benavidezn said. “Playing cards made lunch more fun and gave us a chance to connect with each other instead of just sitting and talking. For me, I enjoy spending time with my friends and making the most out of school, even when classes get stressful. It was a simple way for all of us to laugh, bond, and create memories together.”
