Kerr’s music department has formed a chapter of Tri-M, which is a music honor society for selected students in the music program.

“It will be like NHS, with some academic credentials along with a high level of musicianship and participation in different music events, and being more involved with the music department,” director Ashley Siegrist said.

Students were selected by the music department staff, and invitations were sent out over the Christmas holidays. There will be an induction ceremony for those who wish to accept the offer to join Tri-M, which is to be announced at a later date.

Tri-M stands for “Modern Music Masters.” The honor society is a project of  MENC: The National Association of Music Educators.
