China Bear wasn’t my first choice for a dining out experience bit it was satisfactory. In fact, it only needs a few more improvements to become an excellent restaurant. The quality of food is one of the first things I look for in a restaurant. The second is theme and decor which China Bear exceeds.
At the entrance are some overgrown plants with two ponds on each side that are filled with fish. When you enter there is a gift shop to the side that sells a variety of cultural products such as paintings, clothing, statues, and plants. They even sell little fish food that you can use to feed the fish outside at the pond. This is a unique feature that you won’t see a lot in restaurants.
On the other side of the entrance, there is a counter where a waiter or waitress will seat you. The service was very kind as they escorted me to my seat.
They do a good job in placing the food into different sections on counters so people have all varieties of the type of food they want at hand. I noticed that the more popular food are more crowded than the less desirable food because they are not as popular as the more crowded food.
The food that the people crowd over are clams, mussels, and crab legs. It seems that most people are attracted to seafood, including me. I think that the popular foods are their best dishes. They never seem to run out of the dishes that everyone tries to get. When the food is running low there’s always a new hot batch ready to be served. The popular dishes are full of flavor and it has the different ingredients along with being able to keep the food’s general taste. As soon as I tried it, I went back for seconds.
The other dishes that not a lot of are finely made too. The sushi bar isn’t modern but has an array of sushi styles. One had teriyaki sauce on it, another had seaweed wrapped around caviar . Each type of sushi that they have has its own type of flavor as well and I would recommend trying out all of them.
Next to the sushi bar is a bar full of fruits, vegetables, sauces, and other vegetarian dishes. It was very compelling because there is a variety of different ingredients that you can use to put together your own custom salad. The salad itself isn’t the worst salad but it is not the best either because it didn’t really look to taste fresh. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re a vegetarian.
Off to the side they have some side dishes that are also one of their best such as french fries, pizza, mozzarella sticks, fried fish, and many more.
The next thing is the main course, which can consist of food such as fried noodles, fried rice, and other strange yet good-looking dishes that I don’t know the name of. China Bear has an entree there for any kind of craving you may have.
The dessert bar is one of their weaknesses. Compared to the rest of their food the dessert table falls short of expectations. It mainly consists of cake, Jell-O, and frozen yogurt in vanilla or chocolate.
The service is very kind, they have a good atmosphere, delicious, high quality food, and a reasonable price for all-you-can-eat. I would pay another visit to this restaurant. Overall, I give the restaurant six fortune cookies out of ten.
