Kerr Choir congratulates those who qualified for the 2023 UIL Solo and Ensemble, saying “they all did wonderfully” in a recent Instagram post. “They all performed wonderful, and I’m really pleased of them,” Ms. Winslow says, describing how delighted she is for her kids and how proud she is of them.

Choir is now hard at work learning songs for their March show as well as UIL. They are practicing songs for both their concert and their UIL competitions. The UIL’s aim is to organize and oversee contests that assist students to prepare for citizenship. Its mission is to provide healthy, character-building, educational activities that follow rules that encourage good sportsmanship and fair play for all participants.

Choir students have started staying after school and practicing occasionally during advisory. They have been working hard to ensure that they are fully prepared for the concert and UIL. This also means that the choir students and teachers are under double pressure to create the finest experience possible for the audience, whether it’s the judges at UIL or the students in the crowd at Kerr.
