Alyssa Boehringer, UIL Journalism Director, hosted a Journalism Master Class at Kerr on January 19 for students from Kerr, Hastings, and Taylor in preparation for upcoming journalism contests. Boehringer discussed the contents and rules of the five contests during the class. Boehringer also reviewed and provided comments on the students’ practice prompts. “The most efficient way to do a feature is to use the LQTQT ( – Use Lead, Quote, Transition, Quote Transition…) format. It allows you to add in quotes while also simultaneously using facts as transition and informing the audience while still remaining entertaining.” Said, Boehringer.
