NAHS will have its first meeting after school on Thursday, September 2 in the 3D art room.

The NAHS bulletin across the 3D art room is still in the process of being completed. The meeting activity is still to be determined.

9/03/21 Update:

The NAHS interest meeting consisted of long discussions about the club’s future. Current sponsor Ms. Dykes shared her concerns about transitioning the club from ex-sponsor, now retired Lisa Canorro. The points system, which previously allowed points to be acquired from winning art competitions, is to be changed, so members can earn points can from participating in contests and volunteer projects. Through shifting the pressure away from winning competitions to participating, Hughes hopes to make NAHS a more inclusive group that prioritizes personal effort and community service.

Club members nominated officers at the meeting and discussed fundraiser ideas. Ms. Hughes also announced that NAHS will be taking a field trip to a cattle ranch sometime in late September to see real life drawing references for the Houston Rodeo art competition. After setting goals for the club’s future, members broke off into small groups and worked on the club’s bulletin board display.
