A record-setting total of 97 students from the Kerr Band competed at the UIL Solo & Ensemble contest Feb. 20. The band brought home 97 medals from the competition. A total of 73 students earned one or two awards, and a record 57 students qualified for state.

Of the state qualifiers, almost half have two state entries, meaning they qualified in two different events.
