Orchestra students advance to state

February 12, 2013

The following 28 students will be advancing to state in May for the Orchestra UIL Solo & Ensemble competition:

Solo Divison: Elisha Bonnette, Christina Chamon, Virgina Chen, and Fahim Hossain.

Ensemble Divison: Lisa Bui, Yan Chen, Hanah Choice, Jenelle Estrada, Anna Evangelio, Jose Hernandez, Amy Ho, David Ho, Jennifer Ho, Tiffany Ho, Dimitri Koufakis, Jamarcus Lacy, Mimi Lam, Yao Liang, Lucy Nguyen, Nhu Pham, Thanh-Ha Pham, My Quan, David Ramirez, Brittany Trinh, Luan Truong, and Winnie Tu.

Both Solo & Ensemble Divisions: Omar Escobedo and Laura Vu.

Following hard sectional training, the band gathered for a full ensemble session, where they improved their synchronization and togetherness as a whole. Getting that time to work together as a whole really helps us bond and perform at our best, Raiyyan Khan said.

Voices of Alief Hosted a Meeting
Sip and Type Erica Carranza, Sarah Abi Saab, Abigail Nguyen, and Leah Ghebrelul meet up at Kims Tea House afterschool on Tuesday to prepare for a mock round on Thursday. During their time there, they researched the impacts of AI on disinformation. Im not the biggest fan of this motion, but Im still excited, Nguyen said.
