Tweet to win a $5000 Scholarship

The Knight Foundation, the American Society of Newspaper Editors, the Newseum and the First Amendment Center are giving students an opportunity to win $5000.

Who Wants a Turkey! Lead mentor Aryan Shoaei explains the November event and what the turkey is used for to his mentors and mentees. Mentors and mentees then pair up to work on coming up what they're thankful for and how to decorate their turkey together. "I think my group aced the event," Shoaei said.

Finishing Touches: Mentors pose for final photo. They gathered up after playing games with their mentees. We all shared a moment of reflection afterwards and congratulating ourselves on the behalf of giving the mentees a fun time. "I'm glad we were able to give them something to look forwards to," Anthony Ngo said.
Pals Have Game Time
Merry Christmas! Ashley Michelle Chavez Carrillo and Sharon Naomi Piedrasanta enjoy festive treats. They stayed afterschool for NAHS celebration. "This is so delicious, and I’m so happy to be sharing it with my best friend," Piedrasanta said.
NAHS Takes Christmas
Bring Your Dish: ASA and Desi Club officers set up tables for members to enjoy the food. The cafeteria was cleared out, and the tables were arranged in a “U” shape to create a space for everyone to socialize. “It was a bit difficult setting everything up during fourth period, but we managed to finish in time,” Desi Club president Meerab Arif said.

Staying Prepared: Counselor Laura Tully speaks to seniors about applying for FAFSA/TASFA. Students are required to complete the form since it is a requirement for graduation. "Know that we're here to help," Tully said.
