Blood drive sets record, again

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center visited Kerr on October 26 to host a blood drive. Throughout the day, a total of 111 students and staff went to the gym to donate blood.

The results of the blood drive were: 74 units of whole blood, 15 double red cell, 11 red cell plasma, total units 126 and only 11 deferrals.

The total product of 126 beat last year;s record set October 29, 2011, with 119 pints donated.

Seniors who participated in this fall’s blood drive can donate again during the spring blood drive to receive a red honor cord, achieved from donating blood twice during senior year.
