Kerr named to top 10 among Houston schools

Kerr has been named the fifth-ranked school in the Houston area on the 2012 school ratings produced by education advocacy group Children At Risk. Kerr was also ranked sixth in the area in Math and Science.

The group announced this year’s rankings April 20, and the results were published in the April 22 issue of the Houston Chronicle. Kerr has been included on the group’s list of top-ranking Houston area schools for the past four years. Kerr ranks as number 15 on the group’s statewide list.

Children At Risk ranks schools based on such criteria as TAKS scores and commended rates, attendance rate, graduation rate, SAT and ACT scores, and the percent of economically disadvantaged students enrolled on the campus.
