Choirs earn sweepstakes

April 9, 2012

At UIL competition at Mayde Creek High School on April 4 and 5, 22 Varsity Choir and 48 Chorale members received straight I’s (the highest score) in both the concert and sight-reading competition.

Their success and high scores enabled them to win sweepstakes trophies.

The contest results come a week after another competition for the choirs, the Lone Star Choir Competition, held in Dallas March 30. There Kerr show choir, mixed choir and handbells each earned top ratings and best in class awards.

We all shared a moment of reflection afterwards and congratulating ourselves on the behalf of giving the mentees a fun time. "I'm glad we were able to give them something to look forwards to," Anthony Ngo said.
Pals Have Game Time
Merry Christmas! Ashley Michelle Chavez Carrillo and Sharon Naomi Piedrasanta enjoy festive treats. They stayed afterschool for NAHS celebration. "This is so delicious, and I’m so happy to be sharing it with my best friend," Piedrasanta said.
NAHS Takes Christmas
Bring Your Dish: ASA and Desi Club officers set up tables for members to enjoy the food. The cafeteria was cleared out, and the tables were arranged in a “U” shape to create a space for everyone to socialize. “It was a bit difficult setting everything up during fourth period, but we managed to finish in time,” Desi Club president Meerab Arif said.

Staying Prepared: Counselor Laura Tully speaks to seniors about applying for FAFSA/TASFA. Students are required to complete the form since it is a requirement for graduation. "Know that we're here to help," Tully said.
