Band goes virtual: directors present new online music program

February 23, 2012

Directors Ashley Siegrist and Cynthia King intend to get their students involved with SMART Music, an online band music program.

The program will allow musicians to send recordings of their playing to the directors, complete classwork, and get them the one-on-one time similar to private lessons that is not offered at Kerr.

Siegrist and King intend to start the program as soon as possible.

Following hard sectional training, the band gathered for a full ensemble session, where they improved their synchronization and togetherness as a whole. Getting that time to work together as a whole really helps us bond and perform at our best, Raiyyan Khan said.

Voices of Alief Hosted a Meeting
Sip and Type Erica Carranza, Sarah Abi Saab, Abigail Nguyen, and Leah Ghebrelul meet up at Kims Tea House afterschool on Tuesday to prepare for a mock round on Thursday. During their time there, they researched the impacts of AI on disinformation. Im not the biggest fan of this motion, but Im still excited, Nguyen said.
