The HISD 2011 Asian-American College and Career Day is coming up on Saturday, November 19, from 8 AM to noon. The event is located at Bellaire High School, 5100 Maple, Bellaire 77401.
Asian-American middle- and high-school students will receive more information about different career options from professional representatives in the following areas: business, counseling and social work, creative arts, culinary arts, education, energy, engineering, entrepreneurship, health care, information technology, law enforcement/public service, legal, media, medical.
Students can meet event speakers at early morning session from 8:00 a.m to 8:45 a.m.
Middle-school students will learn about the shift from middle school into high school.
College preparation including admissions, college essay and letter of recommendation, financial aid, and marketing yourself will be offered during this event.
In addition, a parent workshop that focuses on college preparation will be also available. Parent workshops will be offered in Bhutanese, English, Mandarin/Cantonese, and Vietnamese.
