Shining Bright: The publications team displays their awards at the Texas Association of Journalism Educators (TAJE) Fall Fiesta. The team competed in a variety of categories ranging from Digital Photo with different themes to Feature Writing. “Fall Fiesta was a life changing experience and I’m so proud of all of us,” said Yearbook Editor-in-Chief Tiana Luong.

On October 18th-20th, the Kerronicle newspaper and the Safari yearbook team traveled to San Antonio for the Texas Association of Journalism Educators (TAJE) Fall Fiesta 2025. The event, held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, featured a variety of competitions where students showcased their journalistic skills.

Giao Tran received Best of Show in Digital Photo and a Superior award for Digital Photo with the theme “Crashing Out.” Helin Wang received a Superior award in Review Writing. Yahan Dai received a Superior award in Feature Writing. Katelyn Tieu received an Excellent award in Digital Photo with the theme “Crashing Out.” Emily Le received an Honorable Mention in Digital Photo with the theme “Crashing Out.” Tiana Luong received an Honorable Mention in Digital Photo with the theme “Crashing Out.”

The Safari Yearbook earned third place in Best of Show in Yearbooks (1-240 pages), while the Kerronicle newspaper earned tenth place in Best of Show in Print News.
