Team LASER Makes Finals at Tournament of Champions

Shining Trophies and Smiles Leah Ghebrelul, Preston Nguyen, Andy Stubbs, and Erica Carranza pose for a picture after the final round of TOC. With a 1-4 decision in favor of Greenhill High School, second place was secured. “Never lose faith in yourself, work so hard you can’t fail,” Nguyen said.

From April 26 to April 28, World Schools Team LASER made history for Alief by reaching the finals of the Tournament of Champions. Without financial support from the district or campus, the team raised funds independently through fundraisers and GoFundMe to cover travel and lodging expenses. After securing second place in a victory against Coppell High School in the semi-finals, a historic achievement was marked for both Kerr and Alief.

Mu Alpha Theta Shares Senior Updates
New Officers Alert! Giao Tran, Regina Tan, Gerardo Diaz, Quoc Doan, and Tram Nguyen are the new officers for NTLB. Although the newly elected president, Helin Wang, was unable to attend the luncheon due to illness, the excitement for this new chapter is already in full swing. "I am so excited for this new beginning with NTLB," Tran said.

One Last Time: Secretary Loreal Long, President Iris Hoang-Dugan, and Vice-President Alisha Rahman discuss how to pronounce the names of members. They practice what they will say as officers one last time. "I wasn't expected so many people to show up, but they did," Hoang-Dugan said.
