STUCO Attends District 713 TASC Convention

Leadership, Service, and Spirit: Kerr Student Council poses in front of ‘Welcome District 713’ sign at the spring convention. Attendees spent the whole day networking with other students while electing district officers. “I’m hoping to run and get elected next year,” Sophomore Marcos Coronado said.

Student Council attended the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) District 713 Spring Convention on February 26th at Brazowood High School, joining student leaders from across the region. Attendees traded friendship bracelets, elected new officers to represent District 713, and verified state reports. The Kerr Student Council received special recognition for its outstanding community service. Additionally, Student Council President Kamie Le received $500 a TASC scholarship.

NHS Hosts Annual Blood Drive
A Perfect Performance: Meerab Arif and Georgio Tahtouh host before each performance. They ask questions about different cultures and provide information about the next performance. "I wanted to give people a space where they feel seen, and that's exactly what the multicultural dance show is about," Arif said.
Desi Club Hosts Multicultural Dance Show
Dat Nguyen, Haniyah Lutfi, and Alan Parra pose with their first, second, and third place trophies at City Qualifiers. All of these debaters were competing in varsity congress. "For my city qualifiers tournament, I found it very fun and unique from others. I think that CASE tournaments allowed for all the congressional debaters to bond with eachother, and so rather than feeling you did bad after rounds, you felt like you had a group supporting your back! Overall it was very fun," Nguyen said.
Speech and Debate Wins at City Qualifiers
Heads in the Kahoots! Dylan Nguyen and Alexander Nguyen plan an intense Kahoot battle with their NTLB group. They worked together in the February mixer. "The February Kahoot game was very fun this time around," Nguyen said.
