MSA Hosts MIST Meeting

Listen Up: Guest Speaker Namra Hafeez informs MSA students about MIST. She goes over what to expect and how to prepare for the event. “I’m excited to represent Kerr at this year’s tournament,” President Iqra Naveed said.

Muslim Student Association hosted an after-school meeting on Monday, December 9. It took place in Seminar Room 531 and ran until 3:30 PM. The meeting went over the Muslim Interscholastic Tournament with guest speaker Namra Hafeez from the University of Houston. Hafeez shared her own stories about the event, explained the different competitions, gave advice on how to prepare, and left room for MSA members to ask any questions they had.

Bring Out The Colors: Sophomore Helin Wang and vice president Jenny Nguyen work on poster. They are making advertisement posters for the Game Night that cover concessions and games that will be provided. “I was surprised to see how good all the posters were,” Nguyen said.
SFH Hosts General Meeting After School
Who Wants a Turkey! Lead mentor Aryan Shoaei explains the November event and what the turkey is used for to his mentors and mentees. Mentors and mentees then pair up to work on coming up what they're thankful for and how to decorate their turkey together. "I think my group aced the event," Shoaei said.
NTLB Hosts November Mixer
Finishing Touches: Mentors pose for final photo. They gathered up after playing games with their mentees. We all shared a moment of reflection afterwards and congratulating ourselves on the behalf of giving the mentees a fun time. "I'm glad we were able to give them something to look forwards to," Anthony Ngo said.
Pals Have Game Time
Merry Christmas! Ashley Michelle Chavez Carrillo and Sharon Naomi Piedrasanta enjoy festive treats. They stayed afterschool for NAHS celebration. "This is so delicious, and I’m so happy to be sharing it with my best friend," Piedrasanta said.
