Math Club Prepares for Competitions

Tracking Volunteer Contributions: Members review their tutoring documentation during the November 13th advisory meeting. The club discussed upcoming competitions, including the Texas Math League and Mu Alpha Theta, while reinforcing the importance of mentoring and volunteer hours. Members are required to log weekly tutoring sessions to maintain active status in the club. “This helps us track our hours and stay committed,” Princess Eche said.

On Wednesday, November 13th,  Math Club held its advisory meeting, focusing on upcoming events and competitions. Members discussed participating in the Texas Math League and created an alternative competition, Mu Alpha Theta Part 1, which includes three rounds of multiple-choice questions and national awards. The club emphasized the importance of tutoring hours for all members, requiring weekly mentoring sessions to document their volunteer time. Additionally, plans for Math Club induction next Thursday were announced, with members expected to wear semi-formal clothing and participate in club photos during 4th period.

Vietnamese Student Association Takes Over
It’s time for a mid-knight snack! Freshman Trang Trinh cheers for football team with poster. It was Trinh’s first Kerr football game. “I knew Kerr was going to win from the start,” Trinh said.
Kerr Football Wins Against AECHS
Staying Focused: Students played a game of "Leading the Blind." A player was blindfolded and was led by another student around the room to demonstrate leadership and trust. "Make sure to lead with responsibility," Principal Sara Tones said.
Administration Hosts Leadership Lunch
Bring Your Money! Staff from Dilly Letter Jackets who are also in charge of caps and gowns were at both lunches to take orders. Students were encouraged to purchase during lunches as they are only there for two days to waive the shipping and handling fee. "We accept all forms of payments," a staff said.
