Students Make Art Visit To UTD

On Friday, November 8, art students are taking a field trip to the University of Houston Downtown to view different locations on the campus and get an college experience filled with art. The bus left at 8:45 AM and students returned to school at 2:30 PM. NAHS Sponsor and 2D art teacher, Ms. Reynolds, shared that students  meet two art professors there and had a Q&A session. Students also got the chance to tour the University campus, the O’Kane Gallery, and the art department.

This being their last Hoco as graduating seniors, they were excited to see what STUCO had in store. "They really outdid themselves with the decorations this year," Alas said. "Really transports you into a new place."
Students Attend Homecoming Dance
Building Bridges Across Grades: Miller Intermediate counselor Shawn Sumpter introduces students to the Kerr Pals mentorship program during the first official meeting on November 6th. Sumpter explained the role of the high school mentors, who will be paired with 5th or 6th graders to offer guidance and support. He highlighted qualities like patience and empathy as essential traits for fostering meaningful connections. “We want this to be a rewarding experience for both the mentors and mentees,” Sumpter said.
Kerr Pals Mentorship Program Begins
Kerr High School Fine Arts sets up a booth that sold pins, journals, Christmas cards, and magnets.
