On November 6th, students attended the first official meeting of Kerr Pals, a mentorship program in partnership with Miller Intermediate. Miller counselor Shawn Sumpter introduced the program “MMAD”, explaining that each student will be paired with a 5th or 6th grader to offer support and guidance. Sumpter discussed the qualities he hopes mentors will bring to the role, such as patience, empathy, and a willingness to listen. The program aims to build connections and a sense of community across age groups, creating lasting relationships that help both mentors and mentees.
