Alief ISD Hosts College Fair and Scholarship Giveaway

A Trip For A Tip: Senior Jenny Nguyen hands back her permission form to College center paraprofessional Ruthie Griffins. After receiving the form, another form needs to be completed online through a QR code before shes good to go. “The online form is long but it should give us an idea of how many are going,” Griffins said.

Alief ISD is hosting the Horus Scholars College Fair and Scholarship Giveaway on Friday, November 15. This event is held at the Alief Center for Talent Development where seniors and juniors can attend and participate in. The bus will leave from Kerr at approximately noon and return to school around 1:45 pm. To attend, you must pick up a permission form from Ms. Ruthie in the College Center and return it to her by November 14.

"For my city qualifiers tournament, I found it very fun and unique from others. I think that CASE tournaments allowed for all the congressional debaters to bond with eachother, and so rather than feeling you did bad after rounds, you felt like you had a group supporting your back! A Tourist At Home: Meerab Arif takes photos of Franzi Desai, Iqra Naveed, Sarah Tahtouh, and Tanisha Patel. They dressed up as tourists for 'Dress Up As A Tourist' Tuesday. "It's fun dressing up, so I'm trying to do it throughout the week," Arif said.
Desi Club Hosts Dress Up Week
Strength in Struggles: Motivational speaker Tory Gant speaks on stage. He presented making healthy life choices. "Make choices you want to look like," Grant said.
Sophomores Attend YES Presentation
Staying Updated: Officers present upcoming events with important information. They used four different QR codes that seniors can scan to fill out and sign-up. "It is mandatory that you sign-up for Remind," Isabella Le said.
Senior Officers Discuss Events
Heart In Hand: Jenny Tran, Jessica Nguyen, and Kamie Le make heart crystals. The hearts were made out of borax and members were allowed to keep them if they wanted to. "Making the crystals felt like I was back in elementary doing simple experiments," Le said.
