Everything is Free: Students received a free string bag along with flyers on information that they went over. Staff from the Houston Public Library provided them to everyone who attended the seminar. “I’ll definitely consider using the tutoring they provide,” Emily Nguyen said.
On October 17, 2024, staff from the Houston Public Library spoke about resources that students can access in the library and highlighted the various activities found at the Alief Community Center. Alief students can check out a library book at no cost using their Learning Link log-in that already has been provided. Free resources such as tutoring help and access to college and career are provided using the Learning Link log-in through the Houston Public Library website. Access to certain technologies like a 3D printing machine and a Circuit machine is also free, with proper training and attendance to a specific workshop.
