Underclassmen Take Yearbook Photos

Smile For The Pciture! Junior Tuan Cao poses infront of the camera for his yearbook photo. He arrived to the room during first period and was directly quickly towards the photographers. “I did not know it was picture day today, it was unexpected,” Cao said

On Thursday, September 12, underclassmen gathered outside of room 334 to take their yearbook pictures. There were two backdrops provided by the photographers. Students in publications volunteered to help with signing in students and assisting the photographers to help smooth traffic. They also aided students in picking their pictures to make sure no mistakes were made.

Bring Your Dish: ASA and Desi Club officers set up tables for members to enjoy the food. The cafeteria was cleared out, and the tables were arranged in a “U” shape to create a space for everyone to socialize. “It was a bit difficult setting everything up during fourth period, but we managed to finish in time,” Desi Club president Meerab Arif said.

Geared Up: News reporter Brooke Kushwaha interviews Senior Iqra Naveed. Kushwaha asks questions about Naveed’s college application and what she is deciding to do after high school. “I wasn’t expecting anyone to interview me at the event, but it was fun,” Naveed said.
Alief Hosts Horus Scholars Event
Tracking Volunteer Contributions: Members review their tutoring documentation during the November 13th advisory meeting. The club discussed upcoming competitions, including the Texas Math League and Mu Alpha Theta, while reinforcing the importance of mentoring and volunteer hours. Members are required to log weekly tutoring sessions to maintain active status in the club. “This helps us track our hours and stay committed," Princess Eche said.
Math Club Prepares for Competitions
Perfecting the Notes: Clarinet players Ifetayo Taiwo and Taylor Nguyen practice ahead of their Honor Band auditions. They dedicated hours of preparation on their clarinet pieces to ensure their performances stood out. “It’s an intense process, but I think it’s worth it to make it,” Taiwo said.
