Symphony Band Marches to UIL

As the Symphony Band competes at UIL, an empty Kerr High School band room resonates with determination, creating a silent wait until their return. “We did our best today, but there is always space for improvement. “We’ll come back stronger next time,” Nifemi Oladesu said.

Kerr High School’s Symphony Band took center stage today at the UIL Competition, demonstrating their talent and dedication. The band, led by their conductor, put on a remarkable performance that impressed both the audience and the judges with its coherence. Kerr High School’s Symphony Band received scores of 2, 2, and 1 in all three categories at the UIL Competition. These results indicate a solid overall performance, with notably strong showings in two categories and significant proficiency in the third.

"For my city qualifiers tournament, I found it very fun and unique from others. I think that CASE tournaments allowed for all the congressional debaters to bond with eachother, and so rather than feeling you did bad after rounds, you felt like you had a group supporting your back! A Tourist At Home: Meerab Arif takes photos of Franzi Desai, Iqra Naveed, Sarah Tahtouh, and Tanisha Patel. They dressed up as tourists for 'Dress Up As A Tourist' Tuesday. "It's fun dressing up, so I'm trying to do it throughout the week," Arif said.
Desi Club Hosts Dress Up Week
Strength in Struggles: Motivational speaker Tory Gant speaks on stage. He presented making healthy life choices. "Make choices you want to look like," Grant said.
Sophomores Attend YES Presentation
Staying Updated: Officers present upcoming events with important information. They used four different QR codes that seniors can scan to fill out and sign-up. "It is mandatory that you sign-up for Remind," Isabella Le said.
Senior Officers Discuss Events
Heart In Hand: Jenny Tran, Jessica Nguyen, and Kamie Le make heart crystals. The hearts were made out of borax and members were allowed to keep them if they wanted to. "Making the crystals felt like I was back in elementary doing simple experiments," Le said.
