Band Makes A Resonating Return

Students concentrate intently on playing their pieces, with each note bringing them closer to perfection. “Today was challenging, but every note we perfect brings us closer to our goal,” says Raiyyan Khan.

On January 10, the school band is still practicing to get back to their former glory. They have just returned from the winter break. As they advance, they shake off their rust and continue to reconnect with their instruments. The practice ends with them remembering their main objective again, which was to perform perfectly for the audience.

Alief Hosts Horus Scholars Event
Tracking Volunteer Contributions: Members review their tutoring documentation during the November 13th advisory meeting. The club discussed upcoming competitions, including the Texas Math League and Mu Alpha Theta, while reinforcing the importance of mentoring and volunteer hours. Members are required to log weekly tutoring sessions to maintain active status in the club. “This helps us track our hours and stay committed," Princess Eche said.
Math Club Prepares for Competitions
Perfecting the Notes: Clarinet players Ifetayo Taiwo and Taylor Nguyen practice ahead of their Honor Band auditions. They dedicated hours of preparation on their clarinet pieces to ensure their performances stood out. “It’s an intense process, but I think it’s worth it to make it,” Taiwo said.
