Marching to the Beat of Dedication

Marching Day’s Final Push: As the Marching Day nears within a day, students practice on their instruments for as long as they can to truly master the music. With high hopes, Nifemi Oladesu said, “We transform our dreams into a reality by marching forward with a shared purpose.”

The room is filled with dedicated musicians, focused on improving their performance. They are determined to represent their school as they strive for brilliance. They believe that with the right hard work and dedication, they can reach their goals and make their school proud. As the Marching Day nears tomorrow, September 14,  students believe they will do well.

Bring Your Dish: ASA and Desi Club officers set up tables for members to enjoy the food. The cafeteria was cleared out, and the tables were arranged in a “U” shape to create a space for everyone to socialize. “It was a bit difficult setting everything up during fourth period, but we managed to finish in time,” Desi Club president Meerab Arif said.

Staying Prepared: Counselor Laura Tully speaks to seniors about applying for FAFSA/TASFA. Students are required to complete the form since it is a requirement for graduation. "Know that we're here to help," Tully said.

Geared Up: News reporter Brooke Kushwaha interviews Senior Iqra Naveed. Kushwaha asked questions about Naveed’s college application and what she is deciding to do after high school. “I wasn’t expecting anyone to interview me at the event, but it was fun,” Naveed said.
Alief Hosts Horus Scholars Event
Tracking Volunteer Contributions: Members review their tutoring documentation during the November 13th advisory meeting. The club discussed upcoming competitions, including the Texas Math League and Mu Alpha Theta, while reinforcing the importance of mentoring and volunteer hours. Members are required to log weekly tutoring sessions to maintain active status in the club. “This helps us track our hours and stay committed," Princess Eche said.
Math Club Prepares for Competitions
Perfecting the Notes: Clarinet players Ifetayo Taiwo and Taylor Nguyen practice ahead of their Honor Band auditions. They dedicated hours of preparation on their clarinet pieces to ensure their performances stood out. “It’s an intense process, but I think it’s worth it to make it,” Taiwo said.
