10 Questions With Aidan Ly
Aidan Ly is currently attending Kerr High School. He is in his 3rd year at the school.
Question: What do you miss most about your middle school self?
Answer: Looking back at my middle school self, the things I miss the most were my time management skills. To be honest, as I get older, I seem to get worse and worse at managing my time, and it has taken a real toll on my mental health.
Q: Are there any goals you want to achieve before you graduate?
A: One goal I really want to achieve before I graduate is to make it to the All-State band and be able to perform. Now that Kerr has been reclassified into a 4A school, I think I have a much greater chance of achieving this goal.
Q: What movie do you watch when you are feeling down?
A: Rather than a movie, I like rewatching old series (such as Digimon) I watched when I was a lot younger. The sense of nostalgia it brings me helps to put a smile on my face whenever I feel down.
Q: Who do you look up most to?
A: I think the person I look up to the most is Vivian Nguyen, a senior at this school. I view Vivian as a great mentor and one of my closest friends. She always gives me solid advice and always encourages me to do my best.
Q: If you could go back in time, what would you say to your younger self?
A: If I could go back and tell my younger self anything, it would be to loosen up a little. I think there were definitely a few times I can recall where I was too “by the books” and should’ve just gone with the flow instead.
Q: What is your dream vacation?
A: I think that my dream vacation would be going to Japan with a group of my friends. I’ve seen so many videos about people and their various experiences, and it just makes me want to go more and more. I think it would be a thrilling adventure to visit a foreign country and goof with friends.
Q: What would you miss most about Kerr when you graduate?
A: I think the thing that I will miss the most is the people here. Sure, I’ll still keep in contact with some of the people I know, but there’s bound to be a lot of people that I just won’t talk to anymore once we graduate, and that makes me a little sad.
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: After I graduate, I intend to attend college and eventually get my master’s in Computer Science. Hopefully, this will lead to me landing a good-paying job where I can live an average life.
Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: I would like to think that I am a very observant and emotional person. More than anything else, I think I’m a very logical person, which oftentimes conflicts with my emotional thinking and leaves me very frustrated with myself.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A: I prefer to always keep my mind occupied doing something, whether that be playing video games or reading manga. I feel that when I am engaged in doing something, no matter what it might be, I am being somewhat productive.
