“And for that reason, I’m out.” FBLA members may be practicing their public speaking skills by doing a mock Shark Tank presentation, however, they will not be hearing that phrase anytime soon. FBLA members are in, and they are busy perfecting their presentations and studying for their tests to get ready for the state competition. Rules and guidelines for the conference were given out during the meeting. FBLA President Casey Nguyen said, “I’m excited to not only perform better than districts but also to explore Galveston again.”

At this week’s FBLA meeting on February 23, officers gave out vital information for their upcoming state conference. With the FBLA State Leadership Conference coming on March 22 to 24 in Galveston, Texas, members are busy preparing for the competition. At the meeting, the schedule, dress code, deadlines, grade eligibility, and hotel rules were discussed to make sure all members going to states will be fully prepared. Afterward, members took part in a mock Shark Tank-like pitch to practice their public speaking skills. They had to pretend to advertise their product to potential investors.
