ASA Decorates The Black History Wall
The African Student Association officers prepared the Black History Wall for Black History Month on January 31. The officers made sure to include not just the negative and sad past that colored people had endured but also talk about their culture and music. This meeting also discussed what would be included in the officers’ planned Black History Month week. They worked with the Student Council to allow everyone in the school to participate in the week and earn STUCO points. Monday is Black Out Day; Tuesday is HBCU Day; Wednesday is Dress Up as an Actor or Musician Day; Thursday is Throwback Thursday; and Friday is Black Excellence Day.
