Soccer Tournament Breakdown: Team Selection
On Friday, March 4, Soccer Club officers held a meeting to discuss and select which players would make up the eight teams participating in the soccer tournament.
Before the selection, participants set up several soccer matches with two alternating teams of five going up against each other to showcase their skills.
According to Soccer Club president Melvin Amaya, team captains followed a snake draft, where they alternated between who got first and last pick every round of selection. There is a total of 40 students signed up for the tournament.
The first official match will be held Monday, March 21, in the school’s gym. The tournament is expected to last the entire school week, with the winning team being crowned on Friday, March 25.
