Jack Bell teaches AP U.S. History and Regular U.S. History for 11th graders .
Question: What inspired you to become a teacher?
Answer: “I always liked the topic; U.S. history. I’ve always been a history enthusiast. I like to travel to historic sites and read about history. I also like to work with young people and I thought it would be a good match.”
Q: What do you love about working as a teacher here at Kerr?
A: “I like the fact that the kids are self-centered, self-learning. Majority of them are motivated and they do their assignments. Many come into the course having a lot of good knowledge of the subject, so it makes the seminars go smoothly. They’re active and energetic when we do debates!”
Q: Do you have any other careers that you would follow in the future?
A: “No, I think that’s about it. I would had gotten into the military again as my second choice.”
Q: What inspired you to serve in the military?
A: “When I was eighteen, there was a chance to travel around the world. Also, of course, they payed for your college! So i thought that would be a good experience, not for a lifetime career though.”
Q: What type of music do you enjoy?
A: “I like all kind, but mostly 70s and 80s rock. “

A: “That’s just for Korean Club (laughs)!”
Q: What do you do on your free time?
A: “I like to read, to travel, to take my dogs to the park, to spend time with my friends and family, and sometimes just to relax.”
Q: If you had any superpower, what would it be?
A: “To fly. So I can fly home to the PAKS and grade them fast.”
