Kerr Safety Week officially begins this Friday, Feb. 27! During this event, students have the opportunity to learn and promote safety awareness in their schools and in their lives.
During Kerr Safety Week, students can participate in several activities to promote safety awareness. At the end of the event, students who actively participated and successfully completed the program can receive a $25 Wal-Mart gift card. Here is a brief schedule and description of activities that will take place each day of the week:
Friday, Feb. 27
“Safety Week Kickoff”
-attend the STUCO meeting after school to learn about opportunities to participate in Kerr Safety Week. Donate to “The Wounded Warrior Project”.
Monday, March 2
“Smoking Ain’t Safe”
-Sign up during all lunches to complete online lessons from the “MD Anderson Aspire Online Program” to get a $25 Wal-Mart gift card at the end of the week.
Tuesday, March 3
“Work for a Safer Future”
-Sign up during all lunches to enter the “Taco Bell Graduate for Mas Challenge” and win prizes.
Wednesday, March 4
“Teens in the Driver Seat”
-learn about automobile safety and the “Teens in the Driver Seat” program by attending Safety Seminars. Pledge not to text and drive.
Thursday, March 5
“The Skills of Safety”
-Sign up during all lunches to get certified in CPR/First Aid. Continue to donate to “The Wounded Warrior Project”.
Friday, March 6
“Safety Wrap Up”
-turn in your ASPIRE Completion Certificate as proof for your Wal-Mart gift card. Make your final donation to “The Wounded Warrior Project.”
