Kerr High School has been honored as a National Blue Ribbon School

Kerr is recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. The award was announced at a press conference September 9. Kerr is the only Houston-area high school to be honored this year, and is one of only 6 Texas high schools to be chosen.

The Blue Ribbon program honors schools that have either consistently high performing students or students who have greatly improved their achievement to high levels. The Department of Education put this program into effect in an effort to identify the schools with the best leadership and academic qualities. Annually since 1982, the Department has given this prestigious award to only a select number of schools with students who maintain high academic goals.
