Alphabet Auction postponed until later in February

Organizers of the Safari Yearbook Alphabet Auction have postponed the sale until later in February.

The date is still to be announced, but will be before the end of the month.

Yearbook editors Sarahmichelle Bungay and Rebecca Negri announced the decision Monday afternoon in order to ensure the traditional Pie in the Face event could happen at the same time.

The new date is expected to be announced Tuesday, Feb. 4, the original date for the auction.

The cafeteria was cleared out, and the tables were arranged in a “U” shape to create a space for everyone to socialize. “It was a bit difficult setting everything up during fourth period, but we managed to finish in time,” Desi Club president Meerab Arif said.

Alief Hosts Horus Scholars Event
Tracking Volunteer Contributions: Members review their tutoring documentation during the November 13th advisory meeting. The club discussed upcoming competitions, including the Texas Math League and Mu Alpha Theta, while reinforcing the importance of mentoring and volunteer hours. Members are required to log weekly tutoring sessions to maintain active status in the club. “This helps us track our hours and stay committed," Princess Eche said.

Perfecting the Notes: Clarinet players Ifetayo Taiwo and Taylor Nguyen practice ahead of their Honor Band auditions. They dedicated hours of preparation on their clarinet pieces to ensure their performances stood out. “It’s an intense process, but I think it’s worth it to make it,” Taiwo said.
