FBLA competition registration deadline coming to an end

January 16, 2013

The deadline to register for district competition this year is coming up on January 18 for FBLA members.

A total of $25, which will include lunch at district competitions and workshop, is due Friday to the business center with a medical release form that can be found on the FBLA echalk page under resources.

FBLA workshop will be held at the Arthur Storey Park located at 7400 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. South Houston, Texas 77072, from 2-4 PM on January 26. Members are required to attend the workshop in order compete in district.

Tracking Volunteer Contributions: Members review their tutoring documentation during the November 13th advisory meeting. The club discussed upcoming competitions, including the Texas Math League and Mu Alpha Theta, while reinforcing the importance of mentoring and volunteer hours. Members are required to log weekly tutoring sessions to maintain active status in the club. “This helps us track our hours and stay committed," Princess Eche said.

Perfecting the Notes: Clarinet players Ifetayo Taiwo and Taylor Nguyen practice ahead of their Honor Band auditions. They dedicated hours of preparation on their clarinet pieces to ensure their performances stood out. “It’s an intense process, but I think it’s worth it to make it,” Taiwo said.
